Driveshaft

First real mechnical job was to sort the driveshaft out.
As the Gearbox is a 22-spline box and the diff is just a weak old ae85 S-series diff it needs bit of a custom driveshaft made up.
So since my uncle is a engineer i thought it was a good time to spin it up in his lathe and make something up.
What ive ended up with a 22-spline gearbox end with a Mazda Universal joint mated up to a ae85 driveshaft.

(Oh yea turns out Mazda Universal Joints are the same as the 86 joints....)

Stripping..

Straight into it...!

Holidays now so the work has started on the 86. It has started with some stripping of the black interior and engine bay.
Once these areas a cleaned up a bit more it will hopefully all be sprayed toyota white.

The Clean-Out

The first clean-out on the 86.
Got the vacuum out and started pulling unneeded bits off.
Also had a good look for rust and other imperfections.

I got one....

Yip the day has finally come where ive got my own ae86.
This comes in the form of a ae86 Trueno.
It's very much a project with cancer in places and parts missing..
But that was the whole idea, stick it in the shed and work on it.!
